Donald Doyne Doyle, 71, of Carthage, passed away at Memorial Hospital at 12:45 P.M. on Wednesday, October 18, 2006. Don was born October 18, 1935, in Quincy, Illinois, the son of John and Bessie [Turnhoffer] Doyle. He had worked as a lumberjack in his younger years and also at the Tennessee Foundry in Tennessee, Illinois. On December 14, 1957 he was united in marriage to Norma Phillips at the First Christian Church in Carthage. She preceded him in death on July 12, 2005. Don had operated a dairy barn and farmed in the West Point area since 1968. He was an avid deer and coon hunter, and enjoyed mushrooming. He had a special love for his grandchildren and was always available if someone needed help. Playing pitch and watching the rodeo were some of his favorite pastimes. Don is survived by 7 children, Rex [Susan] Doyle of Basco, Donnie Doyle of Carthage, Wilma [Bob] Leake of Heyworth, Connie [Mike] Wright of Basco, Carla [Mike] Link of Carthage, Julie [Doug] Bollin of Carthage, and Michael [Crystal] Doyle of Carthage; 13 grandchildren, Bryant Doyle, Brokk and Hunter Doyle, Ryan and Brandon Leake, Dustin and Chelsea Wright, Angela and Mikey Link, Deanne and Denton Bollin, and Kristen and Megan Doyle. Also surviving are one brother Gerald [Alice] Doyle of Quincy; two sister's, Arlene Jones of Lorraine and Virgene [Paul] Phillip's of Plymouth; also several special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Norma; one brother, Dean; and a sister, Wilma.
